Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. She is English but her father is Nigerian. Her family was on the south London Council Estate and went to The Brit School aged 14. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. The stage she appeared in was several productions as a student including King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began acting with Storm Damage. She has appeared as a guest for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx & Flipside in the role of Ollie. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe played the lead role for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy that was released in 2008. Some of her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe debuted in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show ran on The CW for only two episodes, but it was removed from the air. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In May of 2013, it was announced that Madekwe, who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, had decided to quit the show after a guest-appearance in the premier episode of the new season. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg has also appeared alongside Madekwe in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a large family from Hamilton, Ontario. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty along with her older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's athletic brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey in the winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but danced. As a result, as she grew older She discovered Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Until she graduated from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz and pointe as well as acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. The important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top soloist".
